i discover it exciting that your use of the term "professional-abortion" is offending people; professional-determination sounds ever plenty nicer, would not it? no one needs to abort? No? They truly seem to prefer the suited to attain this besides, purely in case, for any reason. subsequently, you have known because it wisely and clearly struck a nerve. "good to compliment" is a euphemism for "good to get an abortion while birth control fails or isn't used". yet you will by no ability pay attention a baby-kisser status up and expressing it in those words. you're additionally getting the previous what-ifs: What if she's a baby who became raped, what if, what if, what if. there is an limitless distinction between genuine scientific necessity and private convenience. truly circumstances like this are so uncommon as to be statistically insignificant. yet anticipate to be vilified on those specious grounds besides; this is a worry-loose tactic. One guy or woman's rights end the place yet another's initiate, and that consists of persons who're no longer yet born. If I had a "good to compliment", then so did the daughter in my womb. Edit: Misty, decrease than: thank you. this finished "determination" argument would desire to come to a skidding halt with your placed up. the honour I already had for you has larger tenfold.

Name it and claim it, doctrine has its roots, not with Kenneth Hagin Sr, but with E. W. Kenyon, who was a Baptist Minister, who started reading a lot about (and practicing)
The Christian Science Doctrines. He in the eyes of all Christianity, definately back slide, and began his new false doctrines according to Christianity. 99% of the Preachers/Evangelists
on TV are Name it and Claim it or the better term to be used here is - Faith Movement
preachers/teachers/evangelists.

I won't go any further with this, You, yourself, will have to go and use Google, do Word Searches on the Faith Movement, and E.W. Kenyon, Kenneth Hagin Sr., Kenneth Copeland and learn the info. for yourself, then choose if you want to print up the info. and share this info. with your friend or not. It might make a big positive impact in his life, or it may not.
It all depends on how open he is to the truth about The Faith Movement, its origins, etc.

Best of Luck to you.

Show them verses that refute that belief system. The verse in 2 Timothy about men who use Godliness as the means of financial gain being liars and the truth is not in them is a pretty good one. Or storing up your riches in heaven. or the love of money being the root of all evil. I would destroy error with the truth and then pray for them.

What in Heaven's name is "name it and claim it"? It sounds like a quiz show to me.

As a fellow Christian, it's your responsibility to pray about the right steps to take. Pray in love, not ridiculous prayers like I'm tempted to pray: "God, they're in so much trouble. How do I get them out of it?"

Pray for wisdom, as we should be doing every day, and it will work out.

You might show them some Scriptures about what prayers really please God...

1 John 5:14: "14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that, no matter what it is that we ask according to his will, he hears us."

Does this "name it and claim it" thing have anything to do with God's will? This kind of thing really makes a mockery of the holiness of God.

1 Peter 3:12 "For the eyes of God are uupon the righteous ones, and his ears are toward their supplication; but the face of God is agaiinst those doing bad."

(not to say that your friends are doing bad, but are they doing the will of God, or claiming things that may be for their own personal gain and not necessarily for the doing of God's will.)

1 John 3:22: "and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we are observing his commandments and are doing the things that are pleasing in his eyes"

Acts 10: 34 & 35: "At this Peter opened his mouth and said: “For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial, 35 but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him."

James 4:3: "YOU do ask, and yet YOU do not receive, because YOU are asking for a wrong purpose, that YOU may expend [it] upon YOUR cravings for sensual pleasure."

Matthew 6:7: "But when praying, do not say the same things over and over again, just as the people of the nations do, for they imagine they will get a hearing for their use of many words. 8 So, do not make yourselves like them, for God YOUR Father knows what things YOU are needing before ever YOU ask him."

Matthew 6: 9-13: “You must pray, then, this way: ‘[1] Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. [2] Let your kingdom come. [3] Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth. [4] Give us today our bread for this day; and [5] forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And [6] do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the wicked one.’” (Notice that God’s name and purpose should be given priority.) This prayer was not given to be memorized and repeated word for word, but to help us to know what is important and appropriate to pray for.

Remember that the Apostle Paul prayed three times for the 'thorn in his flesh' to be removed, but what was God's answer to him?....
2 Corinthians 12:7b - 9a: "Therefore, that I might not feel overly exalted, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, an angel of Satan, to keep slapping me, that I might not be overly exalted. 8 In this behalf I three times entreated the Lord that it might depart from me; 9 and yet he really said to me: “My undeserved kindness is sufficient for you; for [my] power is being made perfect in weakness.”

You are right to be worried about your friends practicing this man-made doctrine..It seems to be making parlor tricks out of God's grace and mercy and his underserved-kindness.

If they continue with this, you might do well to distance yourself from them.

1 John 4:1 gives us some good advice...
" Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world."
