Well I was once told that my engagement ring goes on the inside with my wedding band facing outward. So I say yes take off your wedding ring then put on your engagement ring then wedding ring back on. Congratulations on your wedding.

The wedding band is the first ring on your ring finger then your engagement ring. The wedding band should be closest to your heart.

You wear the wedding band first, then put the engagement ring on overtop to protect the wedding band. Doesn't matter which you got first.

to my understanding the engagement ring can stay above the wedding band. no need to remove any, nor place them on different hands.
so therefore you can place the engagement ring right on top of the wedding band.
