You can't if he truly values your brother's friendship as the majority of the time the friends relationship with the sister (you) fizzles and not only is that gone, but as blood is thicker than water, he loses his best friend, your brother too.

If your brother really loves you he will understand that he can't stand in the way of a relationship. Or maybe he's not backing off because he know something about his friend that you don't. He might be protecting you from something.

Talk to your brother first to make sure he doesn't mind. Then let his best friend know that its alright with him. That will ease the tension that your brothers best friend is feeling. On the other hand if your brother doesn't want you to be with his friend then you will have to choose how much you want to be with his friend.

if you like him too, then ask him if your theory is true, because you can't let your borther get between you. and also ask your brother if he has any problem with you guys going out. maybe he doesn't know what he is doin
