Sorry, no interior release. Must remove some of the interior panel to access, there may be screws embedded into the carpet section to remove just that section. Once inside, you'll find a 2 sided clip on a threaded rod that has either disconnected, or has slid enough to make the handle inoperative.
Hopefully, the handle will work one more time to make this repair much easier.

Sir or Madam. May I point out that if you are incapable of finding a trunk release in a vehicle yet capable of using a computer, I can only assume that your jeep DOESN'T HAVE A TRUNK RELEASE BECAUSE IT IS AN SUV AND DOES NOT HAVE A TRUNK!!!!!! (I mean come on....)

Whenever you need to open the back up, just remain seated turn around and throw a brick over the rear seat with enough force that it smashes the rear glass. Then you instruct the person on the outside to put whatever it is they are holding in to the vehicle through the now missing window. Then you can drive off without having stepped foot outside. See? SEE????!!

If you say it with a Spanish accent it's pronounced HEEP. (Never a truer word spoken in jest...)

Enjoy!

On the left hand side of your drivers seat near the floorboard. At least they are on our '94 Jeeps.
