You may have the answer in your use of the description "Sects".
If they do not share the Christian creed, as detailed in the Bible, then they are not Christian. Many call themselves Christian but do not believe that Christ was God incarnate, or that he was resurrected. Some even quote the Bible, but only the bits that fit in with their own philosophy.

It is pretty bad isn't it. I think it happens in all religions. Look at Iraq. The U.S. could be out of there if there wasn't a civil war between different sects of Islam. At least in the Christian church we don't kill each other.

I have often wondered this myself and i think it is primarily due to lack of education and communication.
In Amercia, we should be the best at understanding and accepting different religions but we are closed minded as well due to stubborn beliefs handed down form generation to generation.... not to mention that some religions TEACH that other christian religions are wrong-- i.e. the attack on the Catholic Church in general

I agree with you totally. Not only should we not be fighting with each other, we should not be attacking other people either. It helps nothing. It would be nice if all of my Christian sisters and brothers along with everyone else in this forum would knock it off. It would be much better if more of us were using this medium to further our mutual understanding and individual spiritual enlightenment. I do not even find it appropriate to argue with atheists or agnostics. If we fight fire with fire we all get burned.

believe it or not, but judaism and islam also have the same god? people fight because they believe they are more correct than someone else. instead of trying to understand that everyone can be connected faithfully people just decide they want to fight because they want to. for example the crusades werent for god at all, the crusades were just to get rid of some people NOT BECAUSE OF GOD....god wouldnt want us fighting with each other would he? jesus said love your enemies so whoever fights is not following jesus, the kuran says that you cant be agressive unless someone starts something with you....

Hell, they attack people of their own sects. Just look at the Methodists and other religions fighting over gay rights with their own churches.

It is pretty ridiculous, isn't it? It goes back to the same thing: loving God and loving others.
Apparently, we're not doing either of those very well.

some attack...some correct error. If you send your child to a friends house with directions and a stranger comes along and tells them the wrong directions along the way...causing them to get off course...wouldn't that upset you? So many want to steer others away from safety only to serve themselves.

The mighty one I worship is YHVH. He said not to use pagan names. Ex 23:13. He sent His Son Yahoshua to pay for our sins.(remember no pagan names, that includes "Iesus" or "Hail Zeus") He set aside a special day for rest and Worship. (the Seventh day - Saturday) He said "If you love Me keep my commandments" Well, do you? Love Him? Keep His commandments?

We do not.
Christians do not have SECTS..they have DENOMINATIONS!
I sometimes find it necessary to point out a CULT that claims to be Christian!
