my computer..?

ok why is it that everytime i open a program with my computer a box comes up and says "preparing to install" and it does it everytime i do something.... even wen i have opened that program alot of time... how do i stop it?

There are a couple of possibilities here:

You installed a program that had a very sloppy install script and parts are left over (registry). OR you may have some adware on your system. Do a "system restore" to get back to a time when you know everything was working well. Also use your anti-adware/spyaware/virus programs (you should have more than one of each!)
