The Quran conflicts with the Bible in quite a few places; I have no comment on any of them except Jesus. The Quran was written some 600 years AD, doesn't that make its description of Jesus second-hand, as opposed to the first-hand descriptions of the Son of Man from His apostles and people who have witnessed Him? So how can we believe the Quran's description of Jesus?

First-hand descriptions as contained in the Bible, forgot to add.

Sura 4:157 'That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not' - this description is at clear odds with the Bible.

Which descriptions are you refering to? Just asking as I'm not sure on exactly what is the contradiction (the Quran of course states Jesus to be the leader of his followers, son of the Virgin Mary...etc).

Of course to a believer of the Quran they will believe what the Quran says rather than taking the word of the apostles (I guess its kinda like how you are asking how how can you take the world of the Quran, Muslims may ask how can they take the word of the apostles).

Edited to add: many will translate this passage differently but here's the way I've had it translated to me. The passage is refering to the fact when Jesus was crusified his spirit (sorry not sure on the body bit...) was lifted to heaven rather than left in Jesus's body to suffer.
Hope that helps!

Where does the Qur'an describe Jesus(pbuh)? And besides, the Bible was written some 40-50 years after Jesus was crucified, how can we be sure that those descriptions are accurate?

The issue with the Bible nowadays is that it is inaccurate. Muslims believe in the bible when it first came out and when it was in its original form. However since the time of prophet Jesus there have been alot of variations of bibles which leads most Muslims to believe that none of them right now are true in what they say

What deception.

Quran says he was a virgin born but was fully human.

Wheres the deception?

But the Quran also states that God is so great He does not beget nor is begotten.

Why does that seem to not fit with the inconsistent man-god theory?

The real question is, why does it bother you when I say God is so great He doesnt beget anything like a mortal does.
