Not at all. Recruiting is actually up.
I was also noticing the soldiers here. Most of them volunteered for the military since the war started.
Most feel this is an important mission and believe in what they are doing.
EDIT:
My son is 13 and already planning for his deployment, here. He WANTS to serve. I'm very proud of him.

Can't generalize that all young people are doing the same of anything...that is ignorance.
Some young people are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan...don't trivialize that based on your peresonal bias that young people aren't like they were in the "good ole days." Remember that when black people and women were treated like second class citizens?
Some young people are avoiding military service, but until we have a draft they have the right to choose. Some of the "greatest generation" avoided combat in WWII as well.

No, we're not avoiding the military. My generation has a pretty high enlistment percentage when compared to some of the generations that came before us. A lot of us actually want to serve, and go to war...weird eh?
I'm enlisting again (I was discharged for medical reasons), and I know several other people my age that are enlisting also.
I'm 20.

For the same reason parents are forcing them to move out of the home when they are already old enough to be on their own.Many young people today are immature and dont want to grow up.And they appreciate little.
