hey i just started taking wellbutrin and i smoke pot. is there bad side effects? anyone else out there smoke and take wellbutrin. does it cause problems?

The reason you are on wellbutrin is to quit smoking, and smoking pot would fall under this as well. The biggest problem with this is if you do smoke on this pill not only will you get sick but it may cause seizures. If you look at the bottle it will tell you what the side affects are of the medication. Or you can google it it will tell you everything you need to know.

I did the same thing for years.
I can tell you that you are defeating the purpose.
If you're taking wellburtrin for depression then you will not be helped much at all.
Also, if you ever stop smoking pot and then start again while still taking Wellbutrin, it will take awhile for your body to readjust and in the meantime your highs will feel scary.

Try researching more on 'pot' as it causes depression, if u are taking wellbutrin, u are antagonizing its effect, research both, maybe it will give u remarkable results.

wellbutrin acts like speed. Pot acts like a depressant. You're getting nowhere fast, and your liver will be shot.

Well it is an anti depressive, but it is used by doctors too to get you to stop smoking cig, which it did not work on me for that. So i would really say no, you should not have and worry about the two mixing. Or getting any problems form it.

i knew a guy once that took wellbutrin and smoked. nothing ever happened to him. however, i know that wellbutrin is proscribed for people who want to quit smoking cigarettes, so it might effect if you even want to smoke.

its not that i am against smoking weed,i did it back in my day too,but now you have been prescribed an anti depressant because your mind is not thinking right and now you are adding a drug in the mix,it is not a good idea.
