I don't think so. I think a lot of people are afraid to make a commitment or just don't think when they have sex. I think it sucks that so many people are doing this. It isn't fair for the kids unless these women are rich or educated with good paying jobs. But, with our society the way it is today....It almost takes two good paying jobs to provide for children.
Maybe the fathers aren't responsible and the women feel that the children would be better off without him but that goes back to being careless about who you have sex with. I can't say if it is the trend for the future, I am only one person but I hope it isn't!

Its not so much that marriage is dying out, but instead the importance and meaning of marriage. People today are getting married either for the wrong reasons or not at the right time. Marriage used to be a lifelong unity between people that love each other, and now, not so much, and it is unfortunate that this seems to be the trend for the future.

Despite the divorce statistics; despite the fact that people of both sexes groan & complain that there are no good mates left, people still try to find that perfect companion. It's a part of us, the way we were designed. To mate with another and have a family. So, no, marriage isn't dying, but our attitiude towards it needs a major adjustment.

its dying, even though the numb of marriages that take place every year is up but so is the numb of divorces. so if you think about it people get married to have that spacial moment and then get divorced to do it all over again. i say no one should get married till they take a year of classes and work on it before it takes place so they know if its the person they want to be with and for those who are already married depending on the issue at hand they need to take a 6 month course before they are aloud to divorce,,,,,,,

Obviously not if the 40 billion dollar wedding industry is to be believed. Now, if you were to ask if the life-time commitment style of marriage is dying out, I'd say probably so.
