The answer I got from freetranslation.com was joueur de tennis. Not sure if that's right. I'm sure the word for player begins with the letter b.....
Anyone know?

Yes, it's "un joueur de tennis" or "une joueuse de tennis". We also say "un tennisman", but not "une tenniswoman". But "tennisman" is something people say, not write, I think.

If you're doing a translation, for example, first time you mention the players, you say "les joueurs de tennis", but then you just say "les joueurs".

it is right...the word for player is joueur...so tennis player is ....
