You may be arrested for destroying property, but this is a misdemenor at best. If the case goes to court, at worst you will have to replace the computer.

Look. Even when she was wrong for cheating on you, and you had reasons to be angry, you would be lucky if she didn't file charges against you for Domestic Violence.
I would suggest you pay for her laptop (if it was damaged by your actions), and the next time remember this: DON'T GET AGGRESSIVE, because that can get you in prison, where you will be surrounded by men. Instead of getting aggressive, walk away and remember that there are many other women out there, single and available, for you to choose from.
By the way, if she filled a complaint for Domestic Violence, try to make a deal, but stay away from her, (don't visit her, don't call her, don't write to her, don't SMS her, don't Yahoo Message her, etc.) even if she is the one who starts the contact.

this doesn't sound like a felony to me. some states are known for overcharging so that those charged will plea to a lesser charge and save having to go to a trial. if you have no prior criminal history especially one with violence you are more likely to have to pay a fine and/or restitution. you might also have to take some anger management classes and depending how serious the judge sees this and that you might repeat your actions you could get probation.

do you have a record or history of doing this,,have the police interviewed you,, if they havent then say it was knocked over by one of you bags you were carrying and it was an accident, and that she only called the police because she was caught fooling around and you never,, repeat never got upset with her,, stick to that story and there will be no charges,,if you have no record and you already admitted to the police you did it then you are a fool and you will get probation and a fine and pay for the laptop, let me know,, email me and i can talk you through it

dgon should get the 10 pts. he's got this on lock. be very careful with this. in some states, having a conviction of domestic violence will disqualify u from getting a gun....and will disqualify u from getting a concealed carry permit. 2nd offense of domestic violence will be considered a felony, and if u get to be a convicted felon, u will wind up losing more than just ur freedom for awhile.

You could, BUT I think you'll more than likely face some fines and restrictions like staying away from her. Maybe probation. That is unless of course things were really bad and there is more than what you are telling us here. But from what you have said, I say No, you won't go to jail.

You probably will get the jail time suspended if this is your first offense. You most likely have to pay restitution and will get sentenced to anger management. Even tough I don't blame you.

maybe for a booking, but i see nothing...from what you told me, which is what i doubt actually happened... that all you did was destruction of property that wasnt yours. Unless she didnt want you inside, then you forcibly entered, threatened assault against her other lover, disturbing the peace, made threatening gestures, but nothing a judge wouldnt dismiss..as long as you have a clean record to start off with.

If all you did was kick her lap top out of anger, no. But, if you hurt her in anyway, physically, get a lawyer.
