I have Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003. I'd like to get Office Ultimate 2007, and obviously if I can get an upgrade version I'd save some money. Can I upgrade from Professional 2003 to Ultimate 2007?

Office 2003 Professional can only be express-upgraded to Office 2007 Professional. After u upgrade to Office 2007 Professional, u can upgrade to the ultimate version. It's quite expensive but at least u can save some money.

Given that you already have Office 2003 Pro, you are qualified to upgrade to Office Ultimate 2007 - no problem !!!

The answer from Zawir didn't seem to be valid based on the official information from Microsoft site.

Click on the link in the source below, and it will take you to Microsoft site where you can find official information on qualified software for upgrade.

There is another alternative at www.openoffice.org. They offer a free suite of programs compatible with most of MS Office. Using open office you can open/create/edit and save files in either open office format or Microsoft formats. It's worth a few minutes to check out the openoffice website.
