Not all Christians do feel persecuted, what I'm about to say goes for the not so silent minority.
In my opinion, it's because they have had such a large hold on the world for so long, the idea that it is slipping away as people begin to stand up and demand to be treated equally pains them.
For centuries the Radical Right Christians have marched around the world wrapped in their cloak of superiority and righteousness, browbeating any who disagree. In the past few decades many of the non mainstream religions are finally saying "enough is enough, yours is supposed to be a secular nation, start acting like it".
Most of what these Radical Right Christians claim is happening in America is a pack of lies, easily uncovered by anyone who does the research.
They are not worried about prayer in school, they are worried about Christian prayer in school.
They are not worried about Pro-Life, they are worried about women making their own reproductive choice.
They are not worried about Gay marriage in church, they are worried about anyone having the same freedoms that they presume is their "God given right"
They say they want to defend the constitution, yet they keep trying to circumvent it.
I could go on, but I'll stop here.

I found this on wikipedia:
Past persecutions can become important elements of a persecuted group's identity. Members of many ethnic groups and religions can name at least one time when their group was persecuted by others. Periods of persecution may include martyrdom, in which a person killed by the persecutor becomes a powerful cultural symbol for the persecuted group.
The historical memory of persecution may long outlast a group's status as an oppressed minority, becoming a symbol of group membership. For instance, Christianity's two best-known symbols -- the Christian cross and the ichthus -- are relics of persecution: the cross is the means by which Christ was martyred, while the ichthus was (according to one story) a secret symbol used by Christians to identify one another under Roman persecution. Even where Christianity is the majority religion and has had greater power, these symbols of persecution recall the oppressive past.
Interesting, neh?

first of all , as a goat herder myself I resent the insinuation they're some how stupid. yet, that is yet another tale. i am going to ought to ensure that you do submit the question...Why are goat herders so persecuted ? i do not trust the Bible is complete of contradictions or mistakes. there is not any thanks to get you to work out limitless issues with a finite innovations. The issues interior the Bible are revealed spiritually not mentally. earlier i became saved ( became my existence over to Jesus) I felt the way you do about the Bible. Now I see that's truths. i have examine it via many situations and each and anytime I study something new. that's (my) personal beliefs. i'm not persecuted except it really is done to me in my opinion. i do not care what the international does with that's funds, or what of the international has what call. i trust those products ought to come back to bypass to satisfy scripture. Peter tried to end Jesus from being crucified and Jesus observed as him a devil, the prophesy should be fulfilled. i'm not anti-American although the structure isn't the regulation I stay by technique of. I answer to a higher potential. You obviously do sense persecuted even as someone factors out you do not count on God or your own question does not be significant to you. i'm a Christian you're an Atheist , We both will exist to the best, that's an exceptionally diverse international isn't it?

I was watching a documentary on PBS last week, about germ warfare. It seems that the Allies in WWII used humans, to test some germ weapons. The people tested, were conscientious objectors, all 7th Day Adventists. Would you call that persecution?
I know fundies can be annoying, but is really persecution, or accusation that you refer to?

Yeah, the poor persecuted majority.
They go around telling us that everybody who isn't a fundamentalist bible-literalist is going to hell. They tell us that God ignores the prayers of the pious, prayerful Buddhist and they call his religion a worthless cult. They tell my deeply religious, prayerful Jewish neighbor that God ignores his prayers and that he and his entire family are going to go to hell just for being Jewish. They call anyone here who disagrees with them about anything an atheist. Even if you only disagree with them about talking serpents or God stopping the Sun in the sky so some human beings will have more light to kill other human beings, they will call you an atheist.
And then they wonder why people challenge them. Oh, poor persecuted fundamentalist Christians.

In Matthew 5:11-12 Jesus said blessed are ye when men shall persecute you for my sake. Rejoice and be glad for great is your reward in heaven.
Why do you think Christians are persecuting and to whom?
God loves the Jews. They are his chosen people.

When a group is the vast majority, and nearly every single person in Congress identifies as a member of that faith, I too have real problems when they posture as the persecuted ones..........
