Going to bars alone?

Question

If I go to a bar/tavern, can I go alone? Usually the place I go people go in groups. I usually go with work friends, but today no one is around. Will I look like a loser if I'm there alone?

If you are comfortable going to a bar alone, by all means do it. You are just there to have a beverage, meet some new people, and possibly see some people.

Nah, I do it all the time. The first few times you feel kinda funny. then you get over it. But I've had to relocate a lot, and during the times when I'm new to a place I'd rather go out alone than stay home and rot. Try to find a place with a tv to watch and sit at the bar if you can. Enjoy your night.

If you have to ask then I would imagine you aren't old enough to drink. It's perfectly acceptable to go to a bar alone. Some bars you will have a better time alone in than others but that's fine. If you're on the road for your job why would you not go to a bar, even the hotel bar, by yourself? It beats sitting in a room twiddling your thumbs.

I say, sorry just my opinion, but YES! People who hang out in bars ALONE, Appear to have no life.
Many people with drinking problems, fit into this catagory. If its nothing more than a social gathering spot, "Take a night off" Go home and watch a movie"!!

Probably. Try talking to some of the guys first, and make a few bar friends.

It depends on how comfortable that you look, being alone. If you are standing in the corner alone, staring at people but not talking, then the girls will think that you are a stalker. If you are chatting with different people of either sex, laughing and looking fun, then she will think that you are normal, not a psycho.
