How do I initiate holding hands?

Simple question:

How would one initiate holding hands with a girl? Both while either sitting down (movie or something), or when you are both walking.

Just hold out your hand towards hers. If she sees it, she'll take your hand. If she doesn't realise, gently brush your hand against hers to get her to notice. This works for both sitting and walking.

Holding hands can be very intimate, and it is not always desired, even if they like you. Some people are uncomfortable with PDA. It is better to go for a walk, and just take her hand and put it in the crook of your arm. This type of "escort" is acceptable even to shy or reserved people. It also leaves her the option of removing her hand at her discretion. If she moves closer and accepts the offer, you can put your other hand over hers. Also, once she understands what you're doing, all you have to do is "offer" your arm and she will usually take it. When you are further along in the relationship, and comfortable being in contact with each other, you can be less formal and just hold hands, or put your arm around her. Brushing hands with her makes it seem like you're begging, or that you're too unsure of yourself. If she's going out with you, it's likely she wants to be closer to you in the first place, and girls like for guys to be assertive. This still allows you to take it in steps without seeming too uncertain, and also makes you look like a gentleman. You should not hold hands with her sitting down, unless you are ALREADY at that point in your relationship. If she's really into you, it won't take long for you to figure that out... in fact, if you do this on the way from the parking lot to the movie, you may already be at that point by the time you get inside. Don't take it for granted though, read her responses. If she doesn't seem comfortable, don't push being physical. Be respectful. Nobody likes a "grabby" person.

It's a little spooky but JUST DO IT. You can always ask her, but that , while considerate, shows a lack of confidence. Be assertive. When it comes time to kiss her, I don't know what others think, but asking for that has always gone over very well for me ( i guess they appreciate the respect?)/. Do the fingerbrush against her hand and see if she's receptive. You lose all sorts of points in the movies if you, in that dark room, miss the hand and land elsewhere. Know your landing zone, Sparky. Don't land in her soda either.

You can ask or brush you pinky finger against the other persons pinky if they don't jerk their hand away you could start by entwining pinkies then move in for the hand if the other persons doesn't get freaked out.

Well, just go for it. Think about it, if you are both interested in one another, and you just gently take hold of her hand, she is not going to shout at you or get angry. Also, just talk to her about it. If you are truly interested in one another, you should be open and honest about everything, so just talk to her.
