Joint pain isn't a specified side effect, go back to your doctor and insist on some tests to find out what is going on.

I have terrible RLS. I tried requip and ended up having a whole set of new problems. Thats typical of me though, i've always had trouble taking prescription meds. One of my problems was joint pain in my knees and wrists. When I stopped with the requip, the joint pain quit.
I also had some stomach problems and trouble eating while taking it.
If your doc seems to think theres something else going on and you dont mind spending the time, energy, and money exploring that, i say go for it. If you didnt have joint pain before taking it, maybe try not taking it over the weekend or for a few days when you dont have to be up early and see if the pain stops.
Just because it isnt listed as a side effect on the box, doesnt mean it wont have a different reaction with you.
Good luck! RLS has to be one of the most irritating conditions to have, so i really hope you get good results!
