Ok so I just tried to log on to my old computer and it had a password and I dont know what it was so I loked for previous quiestions about this and I it said to install the boot disk and repair it, so I did this and it was going ok until It restarted and then my son decided to turn my com of, so I started again and clicked bot from cd, now when It finished that process and restarts it comes up with a blue screen saying windows is being restarted and then after that the screen goes black and comes up with an error message which dissapears so fast I cant read it and it keeps doing this, iv even tried restarting it without the cd but it still shows the same message, I think it says '.security account manager blahy blah blah' but I cantread it as it goes to fast. Anyone knwo what I can do to stop this happening. Its windows xp

I tried going into safe mode but it wouldnt let me, iv installed the cd again and clicked on repair again and it goes through the same process but then when it finnished copying files and restarts thats when I get the message and it keeps restarting itself

if all else fails....

you could use the reformat the drive option during install.

If you got files that you don't want to lose you could create a new partition to set it up on and it will leave your old documents intact. It'll be a little messy and you'll have to do some cleanup later on (as well as a whole lotta program reinstallation) but if you're stuck you're stuck.

I only suggest because you seem to be having trouble with all the usual options...hard to tell what the problem is without seeing it

I would startup in safe mode and see if you still have an issue. Restart the machine and hit F8 or F5 to get a menu to choose Safe mode.
