I am 50 year old grandmother who needs to visit 88 year old severely ill father ASAP. My health problems will not allow me to travel before May,07. Must go Business Classs on British Airways(frequent flier) for physical comfort= haave severe arthritis in back and neck. Anyone know of a "special Deal"or way of getting reasonably priced business ticket from Saudi to Boston via London? Am Executive Club member. Have three children in private universities in States at over $50,00/year /child. Can anyone help me?

If you are already a BA frequent flier, simply purchase an economy ticket and use your BA miles to upgrade to business class. Apart from that, there is no magic trick to getting business tickets--- either pay the full business class fare, or upgrade with miles.

That was the case 20-30 yrs ago, but not today. The airlines have reduced the number of flights to increase passenger capacity percentage to well above the breakeven point. Today, last minute coach tickets are sold at full fare which can be almost if not more than what some passengers paid for 1st class. The airlines don't need to entice people onto the flights, they are perfectly fine with the few seats left vacant as they are already well above the breakeven point for the flight.
