Since sex with a girl under 16 (in the UK) is statutory rape, why are there not more prosecutions of the boys or men who commit it?

If either party is under the legal age, the law says it is rape. Consent in those circumstances is irrelevant

i got pregnant when i was 15 and i would not have said it was rape i was with a boy i loved and he was the same age as me and we are still together now 11 years on and have another child together now if he had been prosecuted for that it would be a different story i would have been a single mother and had to cope on my own i think its different when you are in a commited relationship to when older lads are having sex with underage girls and not using the right prcautions and just leaving the girl to it.

That's a good question! Nothing ever seems to get done about it does it. Maybe because all these girls (so many more from when i was a kid) seem to all be 'doing it'. Seems to be the in thing. Maybe they come across like they don't care and if it was all consented why should our tax paying money go into taking the little shites to court when the girls are just as bad.....?

Because they aren't reported if the person involved or their parents do not report this to the proper authorities then nothing can be done about this plus it would somewhat of an ordeal for the girl involved like any rape case she would be ripped to shreds by the defence.

if a boy has sex with a girl under 16 and she consents it isn't rape and the boy cant get done unless the girl presses charges but if the girl doesn't consent they can get done for it
