I get the same result using earlier dates marked in bold on the restore points calendar. For example: 01/22/2007 System Checkpoint.

What do I need to do to get System Restore to work?

I have had this problem before myself, and usually it has been because you have done some action on your computer that changes the registry in such a way that system restore can't go to a previous date because the changes made can't be undone.

Try turning off system restore, reboot, then turn system restore back on. This should help you for the future .. HOWEVER, it will clear all previous restore points, and won't help the problem you are having now.

Hi Fearless,

Trying to restore to a different date is about all you can do. Sometimes a given date has corrupted data.

Reboot your system and try every available date.

I hope it works for you. System Restore can save your bacon but it is touchy and sometimes for no good reason fails.

Make sure you have it set to create a restore point every day.

Good luck,

Norm
