Interesting how all of the enlightened atheists who have answered this question have done so only to demean or belittle the asker.
Makes me want to run out and be an egotisical, self righteous, arrogant atheist too.....

Why do Theists answer questions on atheism?
If someone is asking a question on atheism, is it really necessary to answer that question being religious? I mean seriously what point does it serve. How many times do you hear of a Believer converting an atheist? Why do theists feel their opinions should be shared on reality? Why do theists think they are all knowing of history of the world when in fact they often know very little? Maybe I can answer that question with maybe theists on here are crying for help cause they really do want to wake up to reality? If that isn't so; stop wasting your time.

So many questions, let's take them one at a time:
1) Why not? It's an open forum after all.
2) See answer 1) above.
3) Conversions are rare, either from theism to atheism or vice versa. I think this is because most people already believe whatever they believe because that's what they want to be true, and no amount of argument will change their minds. Having said that, it does occasionally happen.
4) Since nobody actually knows what god is or has any evidence of what he/she/it is, it seems to me that _any_ opinion is as well-informed as any other.
5) Remember that most atheists in this part of the world were raised in christian homes and therefore they possess at least a working knowledge of the bible. In addition, many of them engaged in serious bible study before becoming atheists -- indeed, many of them will aver that actually reading the bible was a big factor in that decision.
6) If "wanting to believe" were all that's required, then atheists would be a much smaller group than they already are. Speaking only for myself, I _want_ to believe that I can spend more than I earn without going into debt and that I can live on chocolate without getting fat. My wanting it won't make it so.
And finally: It's my time and I'll do with it as I please, thanks all the same.

'Why do atheists feel their opinions should be shared on God?' Will you read that back, and listen to yourself... This is a site designed for people to share their opinions and knowledge... why should believers be the only people allowed to comment on God?
Of course there will be some atheists who have little factual knowledge of the bible to support their beliefs (as there will be with people that do believe), but there will also be many atheists who have come to that conclusion by examining the bible and religious history and not found the evidence to support your beliefs.
Do you realise how pompous and judgemental you come across? I wonder whether you believe you have the right to judge people who don't have the same beliefs as you. Also it seems your beliefs must be quite shaky if you cannot cope with them being held up for criticism or debate.
If you are not prepared to accept that other people are entitled to their own beliefs then you should be spending time talking to your church buddies and not on an internet site which will be accessed by people of a variety of beliefs.

Why do people have no brains at all? Atheism means that is the disbelief in the existence of any deities. It is commonly defined as the positive assertion that deities do not exist, or as the deliberate rejection of theism (And this is taken directly from Wikipedia). It's not that we don't believe in religion. We simply reject established theism. And if people are talking about believing in Gods or not, why can't the Atheists put people down for believing in them just because we don't believe in a God of any sort?
And we don't need to actively convert people. Most "believers" drop out of their own volition when Life (b***h that she is) proves them wrong. And believe me, that number is greater than you believe you know.

because an atheist thinks their opinion matters. some of them possibly are crying out for help. i was at one time an atheist, however to say their most defiantly is not a GOD is making a definitive statement on that their are not definitive answers for. i am still open to the possibility that their is no GOD, however i believe somewhere or at least at one time their was one. at the moment i feel as if GOD has left me, or maybe i have left GOD.

First, there's that Freedom of Speech thing. Second, many atheists have a great deal of knowledge about religion, since many searched for the "right" one for them, before coming to the realization that there was none. Third, it is a subject of great interest. One does not have to believe in something to know all about it.
(There is a Catholic college in Minnesota that has a religious studies professor who is an atheist.)

They are still entitled to have an opinion. They chose to be atheist meaning they are aware of the notion of deity and religions and made a choice of not believeing or following any of it.
However, the level of knowledge you refer to exists for everyone not just atheists. You'd be surprised how many so called religious people know so little of their own religion, let along other religions and holy books.

you are the suited occasion of this form of lack of wisdom that i'm able to't stand, you ask "why do atheists answer non secular questions" then you say "no atheist solutions". precisely how the f$@* do you anticipate to be certain why atheists do some thing in case you're no longer even asking atheists?

You answered your own question. Atheist are here because deep down they are searching like all of us, for God. We were created with a soul which was made in God's image. Our soul always seeks God, weather we want it to or not. Our free will may prevent this union but the desire is always there. So let the atheist stay. Someone may say the one right thing to help them. Even if one lost person is found, it is worth the effort.
