It all depends on the UK Video Recorder. If it is NTSC compatible then it will play. Most new video recorders will play them.
If you had posted the make and model of your recorder you would have gotten a more definitive answer!

A modern VHS recorder should be able to play it but you will only get a black and white picture because the colour recording system will be in NTSC.and is not compatible with the UK PAL system.

Yes, NTSC videos play in most PAL video recorders. I have some NTSC tapes that play in my players (no more than 5yrs old). You shouldn't have any problem with them, sometimes the sound quality is not perfect or settings need to be adjusted but they should play normally.

Most likely not, as UK uses the Pal format and the US uses the NSTC format. The difference is that NSTC format had an extra 50 rows of pixels in making a picture. If it does paly you more likely to get a picture with no colour with regular break-up of picture and sometimes patchy sound. But in most cases you will get nothing.

My Dad went to America years back and used a cam corder. When he got back, he had to send it off to get to changed from NTSC to PAL.
I don't know if current video players play both formats. Sorry.

Probably not, depending on age. If your video is compatable with the PAL system (rather than SECAM) then it should play ok, otherwise I would suggest not.

Hypastar.... must have a dual standard player, which are readily available. As the others have said they are two different broadcast systems and are generally not compatible.
