Hebrews 12:4-9;

4 ¶ You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.
5 And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:
"My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives."
7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?
8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.
9 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of Spirits and live?

This tells us the opposite.
It says that if we are His we will be reprimanded.
If we are not reprimanded, we are not His sons.

We suffer in this world, but not in the next. This world is the worst that the believer will ever endure. It is also the best that an unbeliever will ever have.

John 16:33, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Scripture tells us He tests us, but most of our trials are the relusts of our own mistakes, or the workings of the adversary, (Satan). The Almighty does not have any pleasure in the pain or death of the wicked, let alone the pain of the Righteous! He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH's method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.

I don't think God punishes us in hell. I think sometimes we pay for our sins right here in Earth.

God can take his hands off a situation & Satan can do things to us, Look at Job, how God allowed satan to test Job, The only thing God did not let satan do was to take his life. so to answer you correctly, I can say God can just remove his hands off a situation & let satan do something, in order for us to be Tested.
