I'm scared. I used to be 55 kg and now I'm 49 kg. I am 5 feet 9 and I can't seem to regain my weight properly. I eat extra now but it worsens.
My period is absent for a month and I don't want to live like this. I don't want to gain weight by eating chips and chocolate. Help me!!

I don't starve myself. Just want to eat healthy. My body is quite sensitive to junk food because when I take them, I tend to get sore throat and fever later on.

I did a diet for a while but I think it's getting out of hand in the process of regaining it.

Anorexia is a mental disorder in which a person has a severely skewed image of their body and proportion. It is not classified as simply being thin. If you are eating properly, that is not the issue in your case.

You do, however, have some sort of medical condition that should be evaluated. I think your body may have an endocrine problem.

You should eat about 1800 calories per day to stay at a healthy weight. If you are not doing so, you should start. You didn't give much information about your eating habits, so I can't give you anymore information about what your problem may be.

Good luck though!

You don't sound anorexic, since you say you are trying to eat more and gain some weight. Sounds like you are just underweight. Consult a dietician to help you plan a healthy way to gain weight and consider doing some weight raining. Then you can put on weight in muscle mass, not fat.

You should see a physician in order to ensure you are eating right and getting the proper amount of exercise. There may be something else going on that would cause you to miss a menstural cycle but you clearly mention Anorexia which means you are probably restricting your food.

49 kg at 5 ft 9 in tall is a BMI of 16, which is underweight.
As you say you are eating, you probably aren't anorexic.
Something is not right so I suggest you see a Doctor.

if you have to ask then you probably have a problem
see a doctor for a complete workup with a blood and urine test
yes, your period could mean that you are anorexic..
my girlfriend is anorexic and she looks like a skeleton and has no sex appeal at all but she still thinks of herself as being fat.
its a eating disorder and it could kill you if left untreated. are you bulimic? do you force yourself to throw up? forget the computer and get an expert opinion..pronto...

You might have a thyroid problem. I've known several people that had hyperthyroidism - their thyroid glands released too many hormones, so their metabolisms were really high & they were pole-thin, even though they ate normally.

In any case, you're not anorexic, because you don't want to lose weight.

Yes, I agree, you need to see your doctor about your weight loss. You might have something else going on. Get a physical and a lab work up. I will say a prayer for your health. You sound like you have something else going on since it is not purposeful.

Being anorexic means that you are purposley not eating much to lose weight because in your eyes you weigh too much.

From your question, it doesnt seem like you are anorexic by any means.

Simple solution...go to your doctor...that is why he is there.

Anorexia is when you don't want to eat, you seem like you do have your meals. What do you eat, though....if you eat only low-calorie meals on purpose, then you have a problem and need to see a dr. before it gets out of hand.
