how did you get over it?

My ex-husband left a couple of phone bills on the table (which he never did before). I reviewed them, picked out one number in a place 1,000 miles away that was called a few dozen times. I called it and heard "Hi, this is *she and this is *he" (didn't use their real names). That's how I knew we were over. Apparently he had all but moved in her apartment and had been for over 7 months and I had no clue. Or if I did, I just didn't admit it to myself.

How did I get over it? I was so pissed off I guess it didn't take me long. Besides I didn't love the guy anyway, I was only in the marriage for the kids, not for love.

The worst way I have been dumped by my boyfriend was when he stopped talking to me and started avoiding me. Then he told me he wanted to break up. I got over it after a long time when I realized that losing a boyfriend is ok and that I may meet another boy someday. I still had my best friends and I knew this was not the end of my world. I have a long life ahead of me and alot can happen in a long life. I did wait and a four years later I got another boyfriend and that relieved my pain. But even if you don't find another boyfriend right away, stick to your friends so at least you won't be alone.

The worst way i was ever dumped was over the phone by my sons father .. I remember it like it was yesterday i came home from work being heaps excited to be able to talk to him after a bad day at work but that phone call made it one of the worst days in my life the worst being when our son past away 4mths after our brake up..

I just couldnt believe that after having a child with someone you could end it over then phone , i might have been able to deal with it better if he'd done it to my face and stood up and be a real man.

Im no married to a wonderful guy whom i love very much!

He wasn't man enough to dump me at all, he just stopped calling, answering my calls, meeting me after class, or associating with me at all. He just hoped I would "get the hint" That has got to be the worst way to get dumped, just grow a pair and say it face to face.

In the cafe at a Barnes and Noble bookstore - and when I started crying hysterically, he finally had the sense to go somewhere private.... his car... for the rest of the "talk."

I got over it after a couple of months of being really depressed. He was the first guy I ever really cared about, and it took a while for the pain to go away. But I also kissed his really attractive friend - that kind of made it feel better.

In a birthday card-as the PS!
I didn't for a while- but then I met someone else, someone kind and considerate. In retrospect- thank goodness he dumped me, or I wouldn't have found my husband.

..'Dumped' after a long argument in a busy street..!!

(With ofcourse myself having the last word!!! ;)

How I got over it...?

Go out, have a great time (without jumping for the first opportunity) -- till i've 'found myself' again... When he's out of my system and out of mind -- then, possibly look into being with someone else, BUT NOT BEFORE!!! ;)
