Ask people to plant more trees

Global warming is at the fore front because politicians found how to use a new platform to get re-elected. The world leadersuse it because they found ways to make money at it. This is a made up problem just like Global Cooling in the 1970's. Wake up people. I agree we need to be more efficient with our resources, and we should fine and jail companies who are dumping into our rivers maliciously. I want to stop the raiforest destruction, but to say that global warming is a serious man made issue and we need to destroy the American economy and bow down to the rest of the world certainly does not float my boat. Follow the money on this one and you will see that it is all for political gain and grant money for those scientists who profit off of the government if global warming stays at the front of the issues. Look deep into the Keoto (sp?) Treaty, first of all they took jets to a non-central resort location. Not very environmentally concious. THen in the parameters of the treaty they have a clause that makes it so you can buy or sell polution credits. This is all about shifting wealth and breaking down the United States. This is painfully obvious, just look at peoples agenda. The earth's mean temperature has risen .6 degrees C in the past 125 years. Greenland's icecaps have gotten colder in the past 10 years. The Scientists who do not gain anything on their posisition will tell you that the earth has a natural progression and this is what we are seeing. The UN report is made up of POLITICIANS not a good spread of scientists. THere are as many or more scientists who believe that man in NOT the reason and it is over hyped, but their voice is not heard in the LIberal Mainstream Media. WAKE UP AMERICA, IT IS TIME TO BE AMERICANS. FOR THE PEOPLE BY THE PEOPLE. STOP THE LIES

I will give half of my Kingdom to the one who really knows an answer to this.....had I been a King.

It actually depends upon who is cutting a tree and why. So it happens that, depending upon the situation, you have to employ a strategy from an infinite number of deterrents to stop a man from cutting a tree.

But basically there are two strateigies. One is to make them love the trees and the other is to make them afraid.. put some fear into them.

When one has actually taken an axe or a saw in hand and is going to cut a tree, it is too late to stop him and use any of the above strateigies to stop him.

Highlight religous and cultural beliefs about varoius trees to persons who are about to cut trees. Different trees have different Deities associated with them. This is not only in India, but all over the World. Many times this works.

Make them realize the "Age" of the tree that is about to be cut. This also works sometimes, because, in a general way, people respect "Age".

You can also point out that you are taking away the estate of your son or daughter. Or point it out that it is just like killing a hen which yields eggs of gold.

Most Important is that, understand the reason of that person who is cutting it and find out immediately a positive way to meet his requirement, without cutting the tree. You can never acieve anything by "negetion". If you are preventing sombody from doing something, you must give him another option or options.

You can also play another trick, of telling the wood cutter that the wood cutter should better wear a nose mask with hepa filter, to avoid getting microbial "infection" from the dust from bark of the tree. (Advise him affectionately that he must treat all his clothings afterwards by boiling water to remove this infectious dust).

In India, one idiot "Vastushastri" (ancient alternative practice of Architecture) advised one stupid businessman not to have any trees on the north-east side of his factory, because such a thing brings ill omen to business. This businessman immediately cut 4 trees, nice big trees at that, on the north-east side of his factory. Now after two years his business has sunk even more, this businessman is even more depressed. I told him that this must be because of the curse of the trees he cut and the "Vastushastri" which he believed, was a bogus one. I told him this only hoping that henceforth he will think twice, or thrice, before cutting any tree and he also may prevent others doing the same.

Moral of the story is that, if you fail in preventing cutting a tree, do not get discourged, but do not forget to remember them any bad consequences which they may believe readily.

People will keep cutting them down as long as there is a demand for wood. Stop using so much wood! Use bamboo, rammed earth, adobe, etc. for home buiding as much as possible. Recyle wood products as much as possible. Wood structures can many times be taken apart and used for other things instead of buying new wood.
Everyone can plant a tree or two. It's easy. Let's all do that.

We can't stop global warming. We never could. The planet does that on it's own. We might be speeding it up a bit but it happens anyway. I think it pays to remember that the planet is much tougher than we are. It will destroy us long before we can destroy it. Not that we should try and protect the environment we live in not to save the planet but in the hope that it doesn't notice we are here.

What is needed is to plant new trees....that would be very nice to encourage people to plant ... and that would help many things

pine trees
ornamental trees for beauty
mango trees, papaya trees, and all the tropical fruit trees, chickoo, apple, plum
neem trees
walnut trees
soap nut trees
tamarind trees
and the great palm trees ....

all these are used for both beauty, for food, and for the health of the earth because they give off oxygen, keep the atmosphere cool and pleasant, and make for happiness which is not to be forgotten .....

often people have room on their property for a sweet lime tree, a tamarind or a mango tree or two.... and yet they do not plant ...why not?
It makes the property beautiful and adds good things to the atmosphere ...

Peace & Love

education ,giving historical and present day facts concerning deforrestation
for example Ghengas kahn burned all the forrests and filled the wells with sand ,and so turning huge territories in to desserts
Spain and Lebanon were deforested to build the fleets of the Spanish Armada ,and the phoenician traders.
the sahara has fosilized trees in it
In the days of the dinosaurs there were practically no desserts ,almost all desserts were a result of mans intervention.

to day irresposible farming ,using fertilizers, and using the plough (which breaks up the fragile top layer of the ground that houses micro organisms that build the soil together with the organic waste from the flora like leaves)
over pumping near surface deposits of the ground water systems ,and then emptying deep ground water supplies ,turns vast agricultural lands in to desserts

in china 2 mayor desserts are merging and millions of farmers from over 900 villages are running for their lives from the advancing dust storms

the only way we can combat all this is by replenishing the bio mass which is needed to keep the balance in out Environment, and to stop producing gasses and chemicals that damage the atmosphere

stop using spray cans ,stop burning petroleum products
stop using fretilizers, stop using the internal conbustion engine or at least clamp down on poluting engines
stop producing electricity by burning coal
replace energy sources with environmentally friendly alternative energy

tree planting field trips by organising schools and setting up nurseries to grow trees for this purpose

the world bank encourages farmers to reforrest, with Pawlonia a tree especially suited to asorb carbon ,by paying for the planting ,but a large minimum is required

above all ,spread the message ,make people realise that the trees make our planet fit to live in,they absorb the heat of the sun in the day making the days bearable ,and release heat in the night making the night warmer and so balance out the global temperatures

apart from that trees absorb poiseness gasses (carbonmonoxide)as well as producing rain for our rivers and crops to say the least

,and oxigen for us to breathe to boot

be better prepared to discuss the Environmenty read the book mentioned below and anothe good book is calle Sensitive Chaos by Theodor Schwenck on the Rudolph Steiner press.

if they own the land and the trees on the land you really have no right to stop cutting them. most people who have a business out of lumber replant trees to replenish it -- afterall that is their livelyhood -- they aren't just cutting down trees to make tree huggers mad.

if you really want to do something to stop pollution -- stop using anything made of plastic -- don't buy anything that is plastic, don't consume food that is wrapped in plastic.
