There nothing wrong with having feeling for a geeky guy. Just don't do for a laugh to hurt his feelings. Some geek guy ground to be very successful people.

If you like him, then see what happens.
Maybe you only think he's a geek because he's so different from everyone else, but whats fun in hanging out with someone who's like everyone else. It is no fun, it's boring.
Don't worry about what your friends will think, it's you dating him. and plus, he's probably a really sweet guy, and it'll be worth it.

ask him out? geeks tend to be much more kinder than popular boys. and they do rule the world. if your friends have a problem with that you can laugh at them when he becomes their boss in the future
