If it's a written apology-use crayon. Make it look like a 3 year old is cussing and say that they are a bunch of meanies for getting offended.
When you hand it in, say that if you are treated like a child instead of an adult who has complete freedom under the 1st amendment to use whatever language you want, then you'll apologize in crayon. Treating you like a kid lets you behave like one!

Well, I have this problem with bad language. But as far as writing an apology for using it....NO 1 there is no excuse for using bad language. If you meant what you said then you should tell them in person that you realize the use of bad language was in appropriate and you apologize. You are not saying you are taking back what you meant. They may accept your appology or not. If they don't, then it is on them. Sometimes the truth hurts and if the jist of what you said is true. THAT you don't have to appologise for.

Contrary to other replies to your question, I say it is a mature way to correct your errors in using offensive language. Many people resort to vulgarities because they have a weak grasp of the English language and cannot express themselves otherwise.

Offer your written apology in a short, but concise manner such as:

"I apologize for my crude and offensive language spoken earlier. I allowed my emotions take control of my sensibilities, and, for that, I beg your forgiveness."

Don't elaborate further because it will weaken your plea. Write it and see what happens next.

Just say your sorry some things you just can't control. Even if you did mean it you should apologize. Its nice to know you want to apologize so I would write:
I am sorry for using offensive language and I hope you can forgive me persons name " " I am truly sorry I hurt you.

From,
your name " "

Just start by saying to whom it may concern I apologize for my offensive language and leave it at that.

Personally, I wouldn't, but if you feel you must, I'd think a spoken apology would be easier than a written one. Simply because you can get away with brevity in a spoken apology a lot easier than in a written apology. You know, "Sorry I said that" pretty much covers it. Turning that into a letter would be fairly difficult, I should think.

Isn't it amazing that we are taught by our parents not to swear but more often than not, one hears profanity leaking out of their mouths. If you have to apologize, let it come from the heart... especially if it was an honest mistake. It does not have to be a long reply, just one that makes a point so the reader knows you're sincere. If you are really sorry for what you have done than first write what comes from the heart without editing just write/type. After you finished, start editing just to make it more humble. Write in the end that it means a lot to you to continue relation with the aggreived person (only if you mean it becaue false hopes burden your life and others with expectations).

I'm sorry that I used language which was inapproiate for the my reason I may have say it. That I was wrong for using that and I didn't mean to offend you while using language that wasn't polite to be using while talking to you.

I never apologize for swearing. If at the time something happened which caused you to react by cursing, what's to apologize for?
