I would like to make fish for an upcoming dinner but my mom wont eat it if she knows its fish. Is there any kind of fish that I can trick her into thinking is maybe chicken? Thanks!

Swordfish is the least fishy fish in my opinion. Most grocery stores have individual steaks or fillets available. Just dust each with lemon pepper and salt. Grill them for 5-10 minutes per side (or whatever it takes to lightly brown each side), or put them on a George Foreman grill for 10 minutes (or whatever it takes for both sides to be brown).

I know you said taste fishy, but smelling fishy is usually the problem and that means the fish is not fresh. To me, the best fish is the freshest fish that has no smell. If you have already bought it and it has an odor, soak it in milk for a few minutes to reduce the fishiness. The meatiest fish, with a texture almost like turkey, is wahoo; also swordfish or some kinds of shark. My favorite fish is yellow-tail and for seafood, it is hard not to like king crab legs.

It is very unlikely that you will be able to trick your mom unless you make a casserole. The texture of fish is totally different than chicken... But here are some suggestions:

DON'TS
Catfish has an muddy/earthy flavor that is easily detectable. The texture is more "meaty" than most types of fish.
Cod also has a "fishy" flavor (even though it is milder)
Whiting has a milder fish flavor but will be hard to disguise (sometimes has small bones)

DOs (milder flavor - must be FRESH)
Tilapia - very mild flavor
Turbot
Sole
Mahi Mahi (shark steak)

Bon appetit!

There are several types of fish that don't have that fishy flavor. However, all of them have the fish texture. You're not going to be able to pass any of them off as chicken or anything else, so don't even try. I would choose another main course or even do a combo if you have your heart set on seafood.

i comprehend you mentioned flavor fishy, yet smelling fishy is often the subject and which potential the fish isn't sparkling. To me, the main suitable fish is the main as much as date fish that has no scent. in case you have already offered it and it has an scent, soak it in milk for a jiffy to cut back the fishiness. The meatiest fish, with a texture just about like turkey, is wahoo; additionally swordfish or some varieties of shark. My well-liked fish is yellow-tail and for seafood, that's confusing to in contrast to king crab legs.

Try Beef, Pork, Lamb, or Chicken. Why eat Fish if you don't like the taste of Fish. Fish is Fish.

My kids hate fish ...
... but we had some salmon and they yelled for more

My wife cut fillets into finger lengths and used a crumb batter. You can say you soaked it in a red wine or something to get the different taste. (that would explaing the colour change too)

Any complaints, blame it on an Aussie recipe you were trying out

Bon Appetitte

Try soaking your fish fillets in milk. The milk will remove the fishy taste. I Soak my fillets in milk in a covered dish refrigerated for three hours before preparing.

Chilean sea bass (aka Patagonian toothfish) is very buttery and mild, excellent for people who do not like fish, but you will not fool anyone into thinking it's not fish.
