Does the US station in Australia?

No they have no US bases in Austraila alough the Prime Minister offered them The US declined

Yes they do. It is not common though. A friend of mine was stationed in Austrailia for two years on a special duty assignment. In addition, my husband almost applied for a a special duty assignment which was 3 years in Austrailia working as a postal worker. I dunno. I just know its possible but Austrailia isn't like Germany where there is an actual US base.

It would be nice, but I'm not sure of all the consequences.
Too many airmen would volunteer just to go to Australia.

not sure, but i dont think so.... i think there are some joint command bases that there are some us troops @, but none that are just US
