I m preparing electric cells which will take biological electrons as source
1 cell will produce 0.8 volts and 12 milliamperes.
it will be in dc
I will hav approx 200 cell like this in 1 system
I wll be using a dc to ac converter to convert it
so my questions are
1) shd I connect cell in series or parlell
2)If i want to run a computer(I think it will take 120 volt n 2 amp ac )how much dc curent n ampere shd I produced
someone told me that if I produce 2am and 12 volt
that would be enough.
plz tell

If the computer requires 120 volts at 2 amperes you need 240 watts. Compensating for the loss in the conversion circuit you should produce about 290 watts.
Connecting two cells in parallel doubles the current and keeps the voltage the same. Connecting them in series doubles the voltage but keeps the current the same. In one system, if you connect 10 groups of 20 cells in series you will have 10 groups producing 16 volts each at .012 amperes. The connect these 10 groups in parallel and you will have 16 volts at .12 amperes. This will provide 1.92 watts. So you will need about 290/1.92 or 151 systems to run the computer. Actually the final DC voltage you obtain should be determined by the requirements of the conversion circuit (inverter).

I)
Depending on the power requirement, you got to connect the cells in series or parallel.

connecting 'n' cells in parallel leads to a increase in current rating by n times.

connecting 'm' cells in series leads to a increase in voltage rating by m times.

II)
So, in your case, (2A/12mA)=167 cells in parallel
and (120/0.8)=150 in series.

its like 167 beaded chains each with 150 beads.

so you need a total of 150x167= 25050 cells to run your pc!!!

I hope you get a better answer than mine. But I will tell you what I know. First of all what ever you do it should be verified with a amp/volt meter.They are fairly cheap. Secondly I only have exp. with car batteries. but I know if you hook up car batteries in parallel you get more volts. if you hook them up in series you get more capacity but not more volts. Good luck. And don't forget the tester.
