Cats are obligate carnivores and need meat protein (about 60% of their diet) to be healthy cats.
So eating some lentils will probably not harm your cat. If you are thinking of making your cat a vegetarian you will have a very sickly cat. Vegetables cannot provide a cat with its nutritional needs. Cats in the wild will starve before consuming any vegetable protein.

Bigger question is: Why are you trying to give your cat lentils? Just in case you are thinking this, DO NOT attempt to give your cat a vegetarian diet. I don't care what your morals about meat are, your cat does not share them, should not be subjected to them and will get sick and die. Unless he sneaks out starts murdering the local small animal population.

I don't think they would be good for them. Too much protein in them and that causes kidney problems. Many cats are susceptible to kidney issues.

I don't think so in SMALL amounts. My cat LOVES green and black olives. I only give her one or two once in a great while.
