How do you know it is God and not another voice (i.e. Satan's, a Demon's, or Your own)?

What would you tell someone who wanted to hear God's voice?

What do believe one must do to obtain the ability to hear God's voice?

Do you ever hear the voice of God?
What does it sound like to you? OR... do you feel it physically? OR... do you experience His voice spiritually?

Let us begin by reviewing how God speaks to us. God talks to us in a manner and language that we can understand: through every thing around us. This implies our family, friends, enemies (if there are any) etc; through our radio, TV, newspapers; indeed through all means you can imagine. Another way God talks to us is through inner communication: dreams, intuitions and the likes. Yes, God's voice can biblically boom from the clouds or sky, but if this would destabilize us rather than assist us, then it would not be of much use. This is why God speaks to us in a subtle manner that we can easily understand.

In the world of God, there is nothing like luck, coincidence or accident because this would mean that God was not in control, no matter how brief the moment may be. This would not be compatible with the reality of omnipotency or omniscience. So whatever you see or hear has not come by way of chance or accident; it was there for you. Your understanding of God's ways will improve as you come to realize the hand of God in everything that happens around you.

And how do you know it is God that is speaking? Sometimes, your 'gut feeling' is all that convinces you. But if you cannot decide, then ask these questions about the issue at hand: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind? If a voice tells you to hurt someone, then know it is not a voice from God, even if the voice is very loud.

Need to work on removing any concept of self, specialness, reward, and wanting to hear a voice. This means removing the separate will that we think is us. And it only happens by not trying to remove it -- but instead, just watching it (our thoughts, etc.) and letting the thoughts go. If we think we're doing something special or spiritual, that's a thought of the self and needs to be let go. If we have thoughts of our becoming wise and thinking we can teach others because of our insight, that has to be let go. Continually watch our thoughts and let them go -- without expecting and wanting anything in return. Then the voice for God can be heard. But 99.9999999999% of the people who 'hear' god's voice are hearing their ego voice at various levels.

In the beginning, most people do not recognize how God speaks to them, and so they disregard the warnings or teachings, and go their own way, and suffer the consequences.
It takes time and desire to distinguish between the human thought and a divine thought. The human thought or solution always has an ungodly basis or motive, is selfish or debased. The divine solution blesses all.
You do not hear words from God, but you hear complete thoughts through feelings and understanding. You may have a feeling in your heart that you should contact someone, but it may be uncomfortable, and so you neglect to do this. but the heart keeps tugging at you until you listen and do it. This is divine guidance, the path that must be taken. But one must of course, be still and get themselves (self) out ot the way in order to hear and know.

You do not hear a voice, but rather you learn discernment. God speaks to your heart and allows you to discern what the words on the page mean, not because you're hearing voices. It's spiritual, not physical.

God said in the Bible that those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. In order to be on one accord with Him one must have His spirit dwelling inside. Receiving the Holy Spirit will accomplish this. As far as knowing when God is talking, He will never tell you to do anything wrong or contrary to scriptures. It's that small still voice you hear in your mind. CONSCIENCE. Things your natural flesh/mind that requires a sacrifice of yourself are usually God. ex: Phone call middle of night, friend in desparate need. Stay in bed, or get up in -13 degree weather help person. Once you develop a relationship with God it gets easier. Become one with Him!!!

Listen for the "still small voice" of God. It will come to you during your quiet time. It will always be compatible with God's Word. For this reason, you should read you Bible diligently, so you will know if the word you are hearing is in agreement with what The Word says. "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me."

each and all the time. that's suggested as a judgment of right and incorrect, even however that's greater beneficial than that. Jesus spoke approximately that's John 3 while He suggested that all and sundry who's born of the spirit of God is given non secular ears to take heed to the Spirit of God speaking to them. no individual who has no longer been born returned can realize it.
