There are three standard packages (you need to take a Virgin phone line too - from £11 per month):

M - over 39 channels - free
L - over 83 - £11.50 per month
XL - over 129 - £20.50

The exact number of channels varies depending on where you are. Sport, Film and other premium channels are not included in these packs, but are available (at an extra cost, of course).

You can get a pretty good phone/TV/broadband deal for £30 a month...

I've been with NTL for years and they've been okay though the interactive TV is crap. And they still don't offer caller display in my area. Hopefully these will improve under smiley Mr Branson.

I'm interested to see if they manage to sort out the horrendous Customer Service that NTL have offered me over the last 7 years!
