okay, well i put a temporary dye in my hair to make it really really dark just to see if i would like it. well i liked it, but when it washed out it left my hair with a greenish tint. So I got a neutral black hair dye from Clairol, and it doesn't look like it would turn my hair black, just a really dark brown. but it also says that it washes out in 28 washes, instead of 10 like the other. do you think that it would make my hair have a greenish tint too?

The greenish tint is, most likely, an 'ash' colored base to the color that you originally used. Instead of using a neutral color, you would want to use a golden color to neutralize the ash or green that was left over from the other color. You might want to use a color that is about 2 shades lighter than what you would like to achieve in the end, because the black hair color kits really do make your hair black, and because hair color tends to start out a couple of shades darker than what you intended.

Hope that this helps. Good luck.

im a stylist SO i hope i can help u on this one..its hard without seeing you OR the color. chances are that the black hair dye u bought wont make your hair green, but it will go VERY dark. and it most likely wont wash out in 28 washes. now i say that bc your hair is very porous right now..specaily after u just colored it. it hair color is gonna stick like glue..and for some reason the dark ones always do.
if ur afraid to put a brown on bc your afraid its gonna go green again..what u need to do is put in a golden brown or a 'red' or warm brown. now dont be afaid of the word ''red..specially if you have a green tint. if u remember your colorwheel from school or want to look one up ..you will see that red, gold(warm colors) will neautralize cool(green, grey) tones. its all the law of color and as long as u follow that..you will be o.k.
if u have any questions..im here if u want to ask..
best of luck..

if it;s that bad , cut off the top part where it is dyed.
your hair will grow back again.
at least you donthave to suffer stares from pple because of the green tint on your hair.

I don't know. Only a professional can tell you for sure. Know anyone in the salon business?
