I just installed cd-receiver Pioneer 5800 (22RMSx4) and 6x9 Pioneer speakers(40 RMS 250Watt Max) in my Kia Optima '04, it sounds better than factory stereo, but It feels like my speakers are not getting enough power to push the sound....(my friend has same speakers and it plays louder than mine). Could you recommend any amp that will push enough power for my speakers.

P.S. I don't need smth Hi-end, or subwoofer-loud-bass related items...

Thanks

I'd check you stock head unit's output, most likely its not enough to power your 6X9's. I'd get a low watt 2 channel amp and wire them in series. You could go with a 4 channel but its gonna cost a lot more. Don't get a kenwood tho, i'm having problems with mine and i haven't heard anything good about kenwood. I'd go with an alpine if you got the cash, otherwise Infinity or Sony would do it. You probably shouldn't have gotten Pioneers tho.

Your choices are nearly limitless. First, you would be better off with a 4 channel amp instead of a 2 channel. If you went with just a 2 channel on your rear speakers, then you will end up with those speakers overpowering everything else.

Look at the RMS ratings of the amp before you make your decision. Peak ratings are useless and meaningless. Something doing 50 to 100 watts a channel will be plenty of power for you, perhaps with some to spare if you went closer to 100. I dont know what your definition of "hi end" is but you want to make sure you get a quality component. High end for me is something like McIntosh amps and radios (and a few other brands too). So, we all have different perceptions. Likewise, you will find someone everywhere who has had problems with a component from a certain manufacturer. Do some reading and check up on what the amps can do. You want something that has a low THD (Total Harmonic Distortion), .01 or lower is pretty good. Also, shoot for a high s/n ratio (signal to noise ratio), something around 100dB or higher. These are some starter points to go by, and you may find or read about others.

I would recommend something from reputable companies: JL Audio, Kicker, Memphis Car Audio, Xtant, Zapco, MMATS, TubeDriver, etc.

These are just a few of many selections to look at:
Kicker ZX200.4 or ZX350.4
Memphis 16-MCD3004
JL Audio 300/4
Sony XM-4S
MMATS SQ4100
Eclipse EA4100

Good Luck!

Yes you could install a amp to those speakers for rather cheap bet buy or circit city sells a pioneer amp that will match those speakers rather nice just make sure that you know how or have them do the install and let them know weather or not you are in the futer going to run a sub it will make a diffrence if they put bass blockers on your 6x9s! a lot of cars these days have built in amps for speakers this could be the reason for your friends louder sounds good luck!
