Toning is where you are "sculpting" your muscles and making them stronger, tighter. Losing fat is just that. No junk in the trunk, or a spare tire around the middle.

Losing fat is just getting smaller and weighing less. Toning is getting smaller and weighing the same or more, because you are fit and muscle weighs more than fat.

when you tone, the chub you have turns into muscle. for example if you tone your arms, they will stay the same size but the fat will turn to muscle. this is done through lifting weights. When you lose weight your size becomes smaller, this is done by doing cardio. hope this helps.

If you have too much fat, you'll have no tone, even if you have the worlds largest muscles underneath. Fat is our 'top' layer. Get down to under 10% body fat and you'll be 'ripped'.
