I'm wanting to change my start bar thing at the bottom from this ugly sandy color to something green. I'm not talking about the actual start menu itself, just the programs bar, the quick launch and the clock area.

Go to Control Panel
Double click Display
Click the Appearance Tab
Change the color scheme on the lower left of the window

Right click on any empty bit of the desktop and select Properties. Then go into the Appearance tab and you can tweak Windows to your heart's content.

Click on the "tools" tab at the top of this page. Then click on "internet options". When the new options window opens, click on the "colors" tab and work away!. Good luck to ya!

You should be able to go into My Computer, and there will be like a "preferences" button. You can probably figure it out from there by the labels.
But get a mac. Nothing on a mac is ever ugly.
