I wonder why, too. But I think it's mainly because these ignorant non-Muslims are letting the ignorant Muslims represent the ENTIRE global Muslim community.... The good that we (and even some non-Muslims) do for the world seems to be ignored, but the bad that happens due to us is always shown on the media! I mean, really!?!?! And most people don't search for the truth about what they hear on the media either, so that's another problem.
But the Truth shall soon prevail, so we've nothing to worry about, sister.

I saw your question and thought I would answer it explaining it isn't your religion as such, it's the fanatical muslims that give it a bad name, it was then I saw your comment about "maybe cause we're special" and I thought what a pratt you are!

It is the same for fanatical Christians too! you only have to look at that numbty President Bush! He goes to war in the name of Jesus, I bet Jesus is cringing at the fact war is being done in his name! the same as Muhammed, he is also cringing at war being made in his name.

Jesus taught us to love thy neighbour, this means everyone. What the world needs right now is a few Ghandi's running the country, then and only then will the world become a place worth living in.

You don't see other religions fighting like this because they are peacefull and listen to what their prophets have taught them.

If people could see through the propaganda, they may learn that Islam truly is not about hate and killing.

The above sounds a bit silly, but its all a marketing strategy. The religious leaders stand in front fo the group (whether it is an imam in front of muslims, or a preacher in front of Christians) and bad-mouths the other side. The more strongly-faithed ones (otherwise known as fundamentalists) will even make up outright lies.

I guess the problem comes from listening to what Muslims say and hearing what Islam is all about.

Its gives a picture of a vile, savage, barbaric and primitive faith.
