For some reason Spam keeps coming to mind:
Swiss Ham Ring-Around
Ingredients
-1 cup fresh or frozen chopped broccoli, uncooked
-1/4 cup chopped parsley or 2 tablespoons of parsley flakes
-2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
-2 tablespoons prepared mustard
-1 tablespoon margarine or butter, softened
-1 teaspoon lemon juice
-3/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese
-1 can HORMEL® Chunk Ham (10 oz.), drained and separated into chunks
-1 package (8 oz.) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
-grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Heat oven to 350°F. Cook and drain broccoli. In large mixing bowl, combine parsley, onion, mustard, margarine, and lemon juice; blend well. Add cheese, broccoli, and ham; mix lightly. Set aside. Separate crescent dough into 8 triangles. On greased cookie sheet, arrange triangles, points toward the outside, in a circle with bases overlapping. The center opening should be about 3 inches in diameter. Spoon ham filling in a ring evenly over bases of triangles. (Some filling may fall onto cook sheet.) Fold points of triangles over filling and tuck under bases of triangles at center of circle. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot. TIP: To make ahead, cover and refrigerate for up to 3 hours: bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350°F.

Layers of ham, Swiss cheese, and green onions are rolled into bread dough, sliced, and baked into sandwich rolls. Use a good quality deli ham for these rolls. The cheap sandwich ham contains too much water and will make the rolls soggy. These rolls can also be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or as a snack.
INGREDIENTS:
1 loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
2 Tbsp powdered ranch dressing mix
1/4 pound good quality deli ham, sliced thin (see Note)
1/8 pound deli baby Swiss cheese, sliced thin
1/8 cup thin-sliced green onions, mostly the green part (or chives)
Topping:
2 Tbsp melted butter
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp basil
PREPARATION:
Line a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with non-stick foil.
Roll bread dough into a rectangle 12 x 14 inches. Sprinkle with ranch dressing powder.

Top with ham in a single layer, followed by a layer of Swiss cheese, and finally the green onions or chives.
Roll the long edge jelly-roll style into a cylinder. Cut into 12 equal slices, placing each slice cut-side down in the baking pan with sides touching.
Brush tops of rolls gently with melted butter. Mix together Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and basil. Sprinkle evenly over the tops of the rolls.
Let rise in a warm place away from any draft until almost doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Bake rolls 25 to 30 minutes, until done in the center and golden on top. Serve with spicy mustard as a party appetizer.
Yield: 12 rolls
Note: Be sure to use a good quality deli ham for these sandwich rolls. Cheap sandwich ham has too much water and will make the rolls soggy. The flavored hams like pesto or sun-dried tomato are excellent choices as is Virginia ham.
