Do NOT sign up for AA.
Baby Q (above) is right. You need to tell yourself you are not a drinker. Practice saying " I don't drink." It will take a while to detox from the alcohol in your system. Treat it like a cold. Do what you would do if you had a bad cold. Take some flu medication (non-alcohol)like Nyquil for a few days, rest, drink OJ, and take long walks.
In the meantime get these books as soon as possible. Sit down (maybe try the library) with a yellow highlighter and read!

Sign up for AA or some other type of support group. When you quiting a habit you need support and must be accountable for your actions. These groups will help you better understand yourself, why you drink, give real life experiences/advice, and celebrate you success's and empathize with your failures.
Best of luck. Your making the right decision by wanting to quit.

Ask yourself why do I want to Quit? If your life has become unmanageble and drinking is causing you problems have a look at some online help like "staying cyber" and go from there. People who think that their lives would improve wiyhout drinking are usually right. Good luck to you,

Take yourself out of the situations where u drink. Avoid going to the bar with the friends to get smashed and try and suggest some other options for the night out.

Half the battle is wanting to quit. Joining AA is good. Also, talk to your doctor about a referal to a counselor for a drug and alcohol assessment. They can tell you if you might be able to quit by just attending AA or if you need more extensive care.
I hope you're successful. God bless.

Just change your habits, or your friends.
also it is called moderation. have one a day, or whatever you
decide on. if that is not possible, quit all together! life goes on
without alcohol.
