Can you turn off the blue display whillst the unit is playing CD's and DVD's on the SAMSUNG HT-XQ100?

THE DISPLAY IS VERY ANNOYING!!!!

check page 67 of the User manual - you can adjust diaply brightness with teh 'dimmer' button
If you mean a blue light when playing 5.1 surround movies - this is not adjustable

no, everything that samsung does ( newish ) will always have a blue display.
