I agree with most of you - it is a great thing to enjoy what you like doing and getting paid for it.
I would rather work for a low paid job I love than a slightly higher paid job I hated and got stressed out over.

I work in a library = not well paid £16 - £18.000 max and I don't even work full time, but its a fabulous job, no responsibilities and you get to meet some great people and find out lots of interesting things on the way. My boss is a snob and spoils it by being haughty to the customers, should be fun not like in the past where you had to speak (if at all) in whispers. Hope it all changes for the best.

I find it quite funny that this is in the 'etiquette' section, when in fact it is poor form to publicly ask a person's income.
Anyway, I'm 24 and I work full time as a caretaker in a home for the mentally retarded as well as working part time as a pizza conveyance specialist. I make around $35k a year, or just shy of 18k in the poundage. Keep in mind that's a 60-65 hour work week though.

I am 48, still manage to enjoy my work, but I am not in the first Job or industry I worked in. Had a few spells of unemployment, currently doing okay. Still have ambitions to do better. Earn a tad more than most of you as salesman in engineering firm, but also have the good lady and the kiddywinks to cater for.

Strangely this rather rude question is in the etiquette area. LOL
I am a cutting tool designer, and I make $54,000 a year.
I love my job most days, hate most of the people I work with and hate the procedures but love the actual work.

Family Therapist in Asia. 70K a year including perks. Hoping to make that amount before the perks and travel to Europe doing it. I enjoy helping families as much as I can and see the world while i do it.

I work for myself in property development and speculation. I never know if, when, or how much I might earn but I don't need much, at the moment I have enough so I'm not too worried.
I love it.
