Exercise (period) will help speed up you metabolism beacuse it incerases you muscle which, in turn, increases your calories burned (even while you're sleeping). If you do a longer exercise session in the morning, your heart rate will be higher in the beginning of the day which burns calories. It's slightly better than evening exercise in this regard...but exercise at anytime is effective. I hope that helped.

Exercising speeds up your metabolism any time of the day, really. However, if you do decide to exercise in the evening, better do it between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. It is what has been recommended for those who wishes to work-out later in the day. I think it has something to do with our blood pressure.
