This has to do with USA growing so much and helping sooooo much that the other allies have to admit that if it wasn't for the USA that UK wouldn't have survived and France wouldn't have been liberated by the Capitalist forces. UK didn't have the numbers or equipment to launch such invasions. Nor was the UK able to stop the U-Boat menace as the Royal navy was to thinly spread to escort all convoys. It was the Belligerent Neutrality act that saved there bacon as it freed the royal navy from patrolling the whole western half of the Atlantic from 1940 on. You also have to admit that US bombers attacking during the day didn't allow the Germans any rest and we at least hit our targets unlike the carpet bombing of the UK at night. In fact the only area where the US has a real competitor for winner of WW2 Is Russia as they produced and fielded troops and equipment on the scale of the US. The UK and others couldn't even come close even when combined. It is these facts that rightly let the USA and Russia say they won the war.

It is because of the way it is taught in schools. Without an island to launch an attack on mainland Europe (I.E Great Britain) the war would not have been won. So the RAF in 1940 played a large part in ensuring the war could be won. But the American industrial machine and manpower were needed to combat the dangers of both extreme ideologies, fascism and Stalinism. We were allies, we both won.

Most Americ ans do not think entirely this way! General "Ike"
Eisenhower made the statement, That no one nation won the
war on there own, the enemies were too deeply entrenched!
It was an Allied victory and above all, a victory for democracy.
But without the aid and industrial might of America, it would
have been a very long war indeed.
God bless America, God bless all free people!

Because Americans won. They are so rich and powerful because they won the war.
Other nations, like Italy and Germany, lost the war, and we can see the consequences now too.

Becauase thats what Hollywood, and Steven Ambrose has brainwashed them to believe.

Many young americans are not aware of the efforts of the Brits who faced down and fought the Germans for two years alone, the Russians who tied up the bulk of the German forces in the East and the commonwealth (Aussies, New Zealanders, Canadians, Africans and Indians) who tied up four elite Japanese Army groups in terrible fighting in Burma.

Americans KNOW that they were among the winning side of World War Two because they actually were. Other folk who hold the title of "VICTORS" include; Canada, United Kingdom, France, Russia, Greece, and a whole load of others too numerous to mention here right now.

We were the farthest away from danger. And could produce weapons at a alarming rate. Are cities were not being bombed. Without this ability WWII might have gone on for alot longer and Most of Europe may still be under Facist rule.
