We’re planning to go to Fort Lauderdale for our honeymoon and we’re going to spend a lot of time on the beach… I really need to get those pounds off! I’ve tried a bunch of diets but nothing seems to work I lose 10-15 lb the first month, and a month later I put them back on. I tried to cut down on meals, but then I get really hungry and end up eating more.

What you need to do is start counting how many calories you eat every day, and also working out. If you eat more calories than your body needs, the excess turns into fat. So, you need to find out exactly how many calories you need to decrease your weight. You can find a calorie counter online at http://www.projectweightloss.com . It tells you what’s your calorie need, and it lets you calculate the calories in your meals. Make sure you know exactly how many calories you’re eating with each meal, and stick to that. When you reach for snacks, take a look at the label on the bag first: if you already reached your calorie limit for the day, those extra cals will turn straight into fat. Good luck!

Congradulations on getting married. The main thing you have to look at is calories, calories and more calories. It is all about the calories you take in and the calories you let out by exercising. Dieting is the worst thing anyone can do. It is more about changing your eating habits and getting more active.

I know you have heard people say take the stairs instead of the elavator. Well, quite frankly that is true. You would be suprised how many calories you will loose by taking the stairs. If you go to the Grocery store park at the far end of the parking lot and walk a little bit longer to the store. These tiny little adjustments will make a make a big differnce and you won't even realize it. So many people don't have the time to exercise, but making little adjustments to you daily life will help you dramaticaly. I am not saying you take the stairs you should skip your workout, still get a good 30 plus minutes of a good cardio workout three to five times a week. Exercising doesn't have to be boring. I love to dance, so when I am home alone I turn on my music and dance away. Find something that you like to do and go with it. If you like the activity that you are doing you will be able to stick with it.

Now about eating, it is all about changing your eating habits. Say you eat fast food three times a week. For the first two weeks eat fast food maybe twice a week, the next two week eat fast food once a week, the next month eat fast food once every to weeks and the next month after that eat fast food once a month. Before you know it you won't be missing the fast food resturants. If you would stop eating the fast food all at once you will go back to it. When you go to work, take your lunch with you. It doesn't only help with the calories but it also helps with the money in your wallet. When you eat smaller meals and you get hungery instead of eating chips or cookies, get a small bag of carrots. When you get hungry eat vegetables and fruits. They keep you full plus the calorie intact is a lot less then two cookies. I use to be a vending machince junky, so when I wanted to loose weight I stopped carrying cash with me. That way I was not tempted to go to the vending machine. Yes, fad diets will help you loose wieght quickly, but once you are off the diet you will gain the wieght back. My best advice is slowly change your eating and exercise habits.

Hope this helps.

First of all, congratulations to you Audrey. All the best to you for a very happy life. Fad dieting will take off the weight but it is sure to return. Many of the fad diets help you to lose water weight quickly but pounds are put back on when you resume "normal" eating habits again. Like many suggested here, eating correctly along with exercise is the key. Unfortunately, it always sounds easier then what is.
If you can change your diet to one that is wholesome, you will reap rewards without so much effort. Whole foods such as vegetables and fruits will take off that weight effortlessly. Stay away from anything in a box as it is processed. Please do a search on raw vegan foods or even raw vegan foods and weight loss. The thing is that you cannot get hungry this way as there is no limit on how much you can eat. Try incorporating even one meal at first with either fruits and veggies and then incorporate more. I could go on and on about this. Please do not resort to dangerous diet pills to get your weight off. A quick fix is just that. Whatever you do decide, all the very best to you. I am sure you will make for a beautiful bride regardless of what your weight is.

I recently lost 25 pounds, I had to exercise 4 or 5 times a week. I changed my eating I ate about 6 times a day but not huge. i ate more in the morning and less at dinner and I totally stopped eating after dinner. I stopped eating out, not even a salad because every time I would go out, I would never get a salad I would end up getting whatever I wanted. It takes time, but I think 30 lbs in 8 months is doable, that is assuming that you are a little overweight. If you are already relatively small it will probably be harder to lose weight.

If I were you I would go on the South Beach Diet. It has always worked for me. As a matter of fact, I am on it right now. You would lose that 30 pounds in a month. While you are doing the diet a good suggestion would be to walk a lot and drink a lot of water.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

hey, first of all, congratulations. mostly everyone has reffered to your diet. that is a good start, but make sure you fill your self. so make lower fat choices. so eat more veggies and stuff, so if you fill yourself up like you should, you'll be fine. more importantly, i personally think you should go to the gym. 30 pound in 8 months is reallistic. you should do 40 min of cardio at least 4 time per week, and also lift weights. remember that if you turn fat into muscle and the scale show you havn't lost weight, dont be discouraged, as muscle weighs more than fat. and most guys i know think a toned body is sexier than a skinny body. good luck!

Cut down on calories, exercise.

There is nothing fancy about it.

The popcorn diet is interesting. They sell 100 calorie bags of it. Have a couple of those during the day, and eat a descent meal at night.

Walk/run around 3 miles a night.

Diet pills are a rip-off. I saw something on the news about a new product called "Alli". It is the first diet med to get FDA approval. That says something to me. I'm going to try it if I can find it.
