He was a friend of the pilot who shot the British Soldier. He went into a rant about how the Brits 'can't shoot, communicate and move'...how our 'whole damn country had better get on board' with the USA and stop sucking our thumbs.
He even questioned our commitment in the second world war - the only country who stood against Hitler from start to finish!
Is that what Americans think?
They've only got us as their friends and this is what they say?

No I didn't the American on the telly the other night.
I don't know what other Americans think but I think Britain has fine military tradition. As a former US Marine I was taught that we adopted many of our traditions from the British Royal Marines. There can be no doubt that the British are a fierce and warlike people when necessary. Any comment questioning British resolve in WWII is absurd. I would reference late summer and early fall of 1940 as evidence. Britain was bombed incessantly by Germany and continued to function.
I can't morally apologise for another person, but I can repudiate nonsense.

? Television? They put people on T.V. who will get a rise in the people who are watching. Good or Bad? They do not = the whole US, but I do wonder where are allies are. Does the EU want all of Iraq to go to terrorists? What would you do if your lands started to be overrun by Muslim extremists. Or are they already? In America we do not have a Lodonistan so I do not know or understand if that is a real danger. I think as many British Forces need to be home to defend Britain from those who will destroy it internally. But be fearful of socialistic tenancies. I do not follow British politics so I do not know where you are at in this arena. But the more socialistic you go the less you will be able to defend yourself and help your allies. There is only so much treasure to go around. God Bless You and your Country. You will always be an allie to me.

I didn't see it, but for any American to sit in front of TV cameras and say such stipid things is a big mistake and a condemnable one. That guy deserves to be court-marshalled. America have been committing all sorts of political blunder and the only country that cares to clean it up for them all the times has always been Britain.

During the 1990 gulf war, Britain was a staunch supporter of United states and it cost Margaret Thatcher her exalted Prime Minister seat in the end. The same thing has repeated itself in the last invasion of Iraq. It has brought all sorts of disharmony between Blair and his henchmen and subsequently, he is been forced to quit in a manner he did not wish.

But this serves Britain right. They have never made Americans to realise how important they are to US. Do you think even with the best government in United States, they can win support of the vast majority of the Commonwealth States, the way the British government has always made that support available at their disposal anytime they need one. Let the Brits take their proper place in history and at least prove to Americans that they are not poodles for supporting them this much all this while. And we shall see what will become of US.

yes I saw that too, it made me mad for sure, that's the kind of american all brits hate, and if even 1% of USA is like that then it's certainly not 'the greatest country in the world'

yeah he even managed to bring WW2 into it, forgetting to mention that they only decided to join the fight when pearl harbour was bombed

most of them are nice people, but it's the ones like that that give the country a bad name, I think they forget that this isn't the brit's war, this is a war that bush created, and now they need our help to finish it

oh and the fact that he was saying all this crap after being questioned about his neighbour, a US pilot who killed a british soldier, just makes it 1000 times worse, like he can't take it that america messed up so he starts having a go at england - total ****

Yeah I saw it ,But you gotta ask yourself how many people did they interview before getting this pearler. The guy made G Bush himself look a bit of liberal .I think they should give him his own show, his views on world events would be a viewing must .
I bet he's got every film John Wayne ever made with 'The Green Berets' taking pride of place.

As an American, this is embarrassing (if it's true). I don't believe anything the media puts out, especially anti-military stupid stuff.

If one of ours actually said that stuff, time for him to remove the uniform and go back to private life. You guys are toughing it out with us and deserve a lot more respect than that.

That idiot from last night doesn't know his @rse from his elbow. If you really want to see an ignorant, arrogant, and ill informed American then watch what this moron said to the ITN reporter about his pilot friend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKDzTHvKRgw
