Often dogs will relate punishment for accidents with fear of "going" in front of people. If you have punished your dog too sevearly in the past by rubbing her nose in it, yelling loudly or physical punishment, in her mind she thinks you don't want her to go potty! Accidents are not the dogs fault... they are the humans. Dogs give all sorts of warning signs that they need to go at a very early age, people just don't look for them soon enough.
Thus being said, it is completely reversable (whether or not the afformentioned has occured with you or someone else, or perhaps not at all)! Extreme praise for going where she supposed to, showing your excitement for her good job is a great way to reassure your dog. Avoid punishing her when it comes to this subject. Regain your dogs trust and respect.
I hope that with a little time and praise you can also come to appreciate your dog and respect her too. I hardly think that your dog is "retarded", infact she is quite intellegent and has adapted to her surroundings quite well. When it comes to dogs... Stupid is as stupid owner does.

Miss Piggy is like all other dogs who have an innate instinct to poo away from their home environment thereby not soiling on their own territory.
She is also showing signs of personal embarrassment from what you describe and that is so of many dogs too who prefer to poo discretely and in a place out of the public eye.
Defecation is an important ritual in some cases and by taking Miss Piggy out you are enabling her to explore a wider range of options from which to choose and satisfy nature's call in comfort

My dobe will break off half way if someone walks out just as she is tinkling. She has never been punished for doing her business where shes not supposed to so thats not the reason. In the wild, if a wolf is caught with its pants down, so to speak, by a member of another pack, its likely to be attacked for marking in the wrong territory, so maybe your dog thinks your yard is your territory and it doesnt want to mark in it. Walk your dog when its time to go potty coz i can guarantee that exercise will move those bowels and it will be marking in unknown territory.

I don't think she is retarded. She might have cought on that once she goes potty you immediately bring her into the house. My friends puppy does this. She knows the puppy has to go potty, but the puppy starts playing as soon as she gets outside. She knows that once she goes potty play time outside is over, and it is time to come in. Your dog might also be wise to the fact that after she goes potty you bring her in. So she is taking her time so she can stay outside a little longer. This is just an idea, because i have seen some dogs who do this.

Why do you even have a dog because it is clear that you don't know enough to properly take care of her if you don't know that dogs are NOT retarded; and as if her not wanting to do it because you are sure that she has to go, well then you don't know if she has to or not because if she did, she WOULD, whether you are watching or not. My suggestion, find her a home where they will have a lot more patience and love for her than you obviously do.

Well I have a dog and sometimes I have to take her for a walk to do her business. Sometime she won't go do her business because she saw something that frightened her. If those don't work go see your vet they are trained to help.

Take the dog for a walk at least twice a day. She'll do her business and you'll both get needed exercise.

How often do you take her out? Set the times you feed her and let her out. I let my Miniature Schnauzers out every two to three hours.
