maybe you should ask him over for a lunch at your house, when your parents are there, if he accepts, you might be able to get a better idea if he is shy, scared, or not interested, if he isnt interested, you need to take the rejection and move on, you dont need to try to change his mind, that can only lead to other problems down the road.

Some guys are more interested in a girl someone else wants. So my suggestion is to move on. Date someone else and maybe he will wonder what he missed. I am not suggesting that you USE someone else, that would be mean. Only date someone else you are truly interested in. Who knows, maybe you will forget what it was you liked about the first guy because the second guy is awsome. And if not..... well, no harm done.
There are lots of reasons the first guy may have said no.... he may not be "in" to dating right now, he may feel he can't afford to date, he may be involved with someone already, he may not be allowed to date, or...... he may not be interested in YOU. I know that can be hard to take but it happens and that doesn't mean there is something wrong with you... it just means you're not his type. Don't let it bring you down... maybe his type is something you wouldn't want to be.

Keep asking him out it is worth being humiliated than not getting your way. He has rejected you either because he has already got a girl fiend or that he doesntthink you are hot enough for him (it could also be your personality) or he is too shy or he couldnt make his mind up at that second. He might regret that he has rejected you but is perhaps too shy to ask you. So you have to ask him again
